FAQ for In-Person Attendees

Virtual Access

The 2023 WRISE Leadership Forum will be held on the event platform Hopin, where you will be able to network with other attendees, access all session content, and learn about our sponsors and exhibitors. Below is an FAQ, if you don't see what you need please email info@wriseleadershipforum.org.

A: Once registered, attendees will receive an email from "Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) " with the subject "Invitation to online event - WRISE Leadership Forum" that will give you access to the official conference Hopin event. Click the Login & Join Event button to enter the conference. If you have registered and have not received this link, please search your inbox and check spam and then email info@wriseleadershipforum.org for assistance if needed. Please note, if you registered in Hopin last year, you can re-use your previously created account for this years event. If you have forgotten your login credentials, you can utilize the Forgot your Password link to reset your password.

A: All content will be visible 1 hour prior to the event start time (12:00 PM CDT on October 10th) and will remain available until 1 hour after the event end (5:30 PM CDT on October 12th).

A: The Hopin platform automatically updates the conference schedule to match your local time.

A: Use a modern browser for best experience. Hopin recommends Chrome or Firefox. An internet connection that allows you to participate in a Google Meet or Zoom call should be sufficient for the Hopin platform.

A: No. Hopin runs in your browser.

A: No. Audio can only be heard through Hopin directly.

A: While WRISE Leadership Forum attendees won't be able to meet someone new in the hallway, they can meet random attendees through one-on-one video networking.

When an attendee clicks the Ready button they are immediately matched with a random fellow attendee via face-to-face video, similar to chat roulette. Meetings end automatically after a designated time frame. Attendees can leave at any time after the first 30 seconds are up.

Conversation partners may decide to share contact information by clicking the Connect button. If both parties click Connect, the pair can find each other's contact information (email address and social media) via the Connect section of their Hopin account. (Learn more about the Connect feature.)

Connections made during the event can be accessed after the event ends using the Hopin account dashboard - the account dashboard is the first page you see after logging in.

A: The event chat is for conference-wide discussions. It's accessible on every page of the platform. The stage and session chats are for discussions during stage or session presentations. There is also an exhibitor chat within each Expo booth, for you to ask our sponsors and exhibitors questions.

A: Users can type the @ symbol and a few characters of an attendee's first name to highlight that person's name and profile within the chat stream. The mentioned attendee does not receive a notification.

A: Attendees can message each other through direct messages. To send a DM, find the person you wish to chat with in the People tab, click their profile photo and send the message. A red dot in the recipient's People tab and on the envelope icon (top right) will let them know they have a new message.

A: The attendee will receive a direct message letting them know that you've invited them to a video call. You will both receive a link to a private session room within Hopin. The room will allow up to five people to share their webcam.

A: Only the keynotes and certain sessions will be available as hybrid sessions. Please check the schedule for more information.
